Frequently asked questions

Answers to common photoshoot questions.

Do I Have to Choose a Collection Before I Book?

You don't need to choose any collection when you book your session. When you view your gallery, you choose your images and your preferred collection, as well as any additional prints. products or wall art.

Can I Choose the Colour Scheme?

I want you to really love your images and put them up all over your home which is why, when you book your session, you can choose from my muted colour schemes so you can ensure you are happy with the colour tones used and that they will blend into your home when it comes to wall art too!

Frequently asked questions - Newborn

Frequently asked questions about newborn photoshoots.

How Long Does a Newborn Photography Session Last?

Newborn photography sessions can last anywhere from 2 - 4 hours. Sessions are entirely baby-led, and their every need will be attended to. This ensures they are comfortable and happy throughout their session. I only schedule one newborn session each day to allow time to ensure that you and your baby are completely relaxed.

What if My Baby Cries or Doesn’t Settle?

This is completely natural and doesn't tend to last the entire session. If your baby cries and no amount of soothing, changing, feeding, and winding changes this, we can reschedule your session.

More often than not, with some time, patience, and perseverance, all babies will settle and we will be able to create beautiful images of them, whether they are awake or asleep.

My Baby Has Scratched Themselves/Has Flaky Skin/Developed Baby Acne - Is This a Problem?

Although it may take longer to edit out any marks from their delivery, such as forceps, scratches from their nails, or flaky/spotty skin, this is all part of the newborn editing process and will be delicately removed during post-processing.

Will You Use a Dummy?

It is best to bring a dummy with you, even if your baby is not using one, as some babies require the comfort of a dummy while being moved into position. This can really help cut down the time taken to soothe your baby.

If you haven't used a dummy with your baby yet, rest assured that using one for a few minutes during your session is highly unlikely to cause nipple or feeding confusion. However, if you really don't want me to use a dummy then of course, we won't.

Can I Take My Own Photos?

You are welcome to take some behind-the-scenes photos of me photographing your baby during your session. I want to help you capture moments to remember this special time in your baby's life.

These photos shouldn't be close-ups of the baby in a set up as these are the images you have paid me to take for you, and a photo taken on your mobile phone will not do them any justice at all.
