What is a Cake Smash Photoshoot?

A cake smash photoshoot is what your baby makes of it. Some really get into the spirit of things, and get stuck in, while others may just have a nibble, and a little prod of the cake. But what is for sure is we will see your baby's personality shining through, and will capture beautiful images to document this special time in their lives.

On the day of your session, all you need is to turn up. I will create the design, order the cake and I have a wardrobe full of adorable outfits for your little one to wear. Everything will be taken care of for you, so you have nothing to worry about.

When to Book Your Cake Smash Photoshoot

I recommend booking your cake smash photoshoot as soon as possible, and as soon as you have decided this is something you and your baby want to experience. My calendar gets booked up very quickly, with limited availability 2-3 months in advance, so you should get this booked quickly.

I understand that things can happen, especially around such a special time as a first birthday! So, I leave my calendar open with plenty of availability should anything come up that means we need to change the date of your cake smash, and make sure your baby is on top form!

Sitter Photoshoot

Another fantastic way to mark your baby's progress and special milestones is to have a 'sitter' photoshoot. A sitter photoshoot is ideal for babies who can sit up unaided, perhaps crawling, but before they start taking their first steps.

This is best to book in for when your baby is around 6-9 months old, before their first birthday. This is a great stage to have a photoshoot, as babies are usually very interactive at this age and are full of beautiful expressions to capture and treasure.

Once confirmed, I will send you a booking confirmation with details on how to get to the studio, including a video walkthrough from your car to the front door, and through the studio!

I will design your cake smash set around your chosen style and colour palette, and I will order the cake for you.

The studio is stocked with beautiful outfits, fabrics and props, so you do not need to bring a thing. Everything is prepared in advance, so the day feels effortless.
